Pink Log Cabin Blocks

I have fallen in love with log cabin quilt blocks.  Lots to cut out but when they are put together... Wow!!!

I made a log cabin quilt a few months ago and decided to give another one a try.  These blocks are shades of pink, touches of green and beige.

I have the blocks sewn together in strips.... will sew the strips together very soon hopefully.  The back of the quilt will be a chocolate brown fabric.  I am so excited to see this quilt all together.... soon!!!

We are socked in the lots of snow... more on the way.  Perfect excuse to hide away and quilt.

This post is participating in Wow us Wednesday at Savvy Southern Style.... go check out the party!!!

Blue Blocks

I found this neat block pattern at Bee in my Bonnet blog.  I had to try it out....

This is what I came up with.... I used some of the blue, yellow and green fabric that I have in my stash.

I am still debating what to use these blocks for.... a table runner, mini quilt for a wall hanging or a baby quilt.  Will make up my mind and post the finished project at a later time.

Long Time No Update

Sorry I have been so quiet.  Life has gotten out of my control lately.

We had another snowstorm this weekend.  We are not venturing out as we had rain before the snow... slick!!!!  None of us care to fall or be in a car accident so we are sticking close to the fireplace and eating lots of soup.

I went to a new doctor last week.  Mycobacteria Avium Complex is her speciality.  She was awesome!!!  The doc is hard to get to see but my CF docs made the initial referral so that made things a touch easier.  I cannot lay flat anymore.  We found out I have a sloppy, lack of muscle esophagus.  I guess food goes down by gravity and not much else.  The hole in my lung is likely due to stomach acid coming back up and heading down the wrong tube.  The recliner is my new bed.

This week I go back to the doc and go a med level blood test.  They will stick me two times to get certain med levels to make sure the dosage of TB drugs are right.  Human pin-cushion here I come. Kiddo has to stay in the waiting room as  I will be going to a restricted part of the hospital.

I have been doing a touch of sewing.... doing all these lung treatments is time consuming.

I am making mini hand warmers and drawstring bags to hold them.

Here are the beginnings of the drawstring bags:

Here is what the hand warmers look like (fancy bean bag like things):

I also started some new quilt blocks.  I have only done three of them...

Yep, more log cabin blocks

Hopefully I will have more pictures to share soon.  I am fighting seasonal affect disorder and one of the ways to treat it is to do more things that a person enjoys... to get them out of the sad funk.... sewing is my de-funker.

My quilting and sewing boards on pinterest are full so it is time to get sewing and creating.  Toodles!!!

Brown Log Cabin Quilt

I was finally able to complete the brown log cabin quilt that I have been working on for....forever.

It is nice and long.  It is a picnic blanket for my parent's car.

It is backed in chocolate brown broadcloth cotton fabric.

I am hoping they enjoy it and have lots of yummy picnics.

Red Wild Quilt is Done!!

I was finally able to finish the red wild quilt.

1st Project for 2013

I have already started my first quilting project for 2013.

I need a couple of doll blankets for birthday gifts this coming year.  I figured why not get started on them.

These are the fabrics that I will be using... pink, pink and more pink.

I was able to use of quite a bit of my scraps.  I filled Mason jars with scrap fabrics a few weeks ago..
I made two stacks of completed blocks... one for each quilt.

Here are four sets of blocks sewn together  with sashing.  Lots of sashing....

Christmas Tablerunner

I started this table runner in July.  I finally put the finishing touches on it today.

This quilt is on the smaller side.... perfect for a little girls tea party.

I finally found some energy and finished this quilt.  The edges gave me a fit.

Purple Quilt Topper is Done!!

I finally found a couple hours in my day to finish the quilt topper that I started MONTHS ago.

Lots of detailed stitching!!

I had yet another picture that refused the rotate.  Silly

All of the blocks in this quilt are either flower or star themed.

This block pattern was neither star themed or flower themed but I like it. So... I added it to the quilt.

Log Cabin Quilt Topper

This past weekend I was able to finish the topper for another quilt.  It is a log cabin pattern all in browns and blues.

Now I need to go out and buy the filler and backing.  It is the largest quilt I have made so far.  Anxious to show you the finished product but... that may take some time.

Quilt Progress-- Lots of Pink

Last Sunday I finished up the back and middle of two of my Christmas quilts.  I still have to sew the binding.  I have about 6 quilts to sew the binding on... you should see the pile of quilts!!  It is overwheming!!

Here are my two pink quilts....

I cleaned up the edging and added the binding....

The binding matches the backing fabric.  This will be a wild quilt!

I made a dolly picnic blanket/little girl quilt....
Here I am attaching the binding.  You can see the other quilt as well.

The back is a soft peach color.  It doesn't look like it matches but there is actually lots of peach in the blocks in the quilt (just not the dominate color).

I am still crossing my fingers that I get all of  the Christmas quilts done and binding secured in time for Christmas.

Day 5 of Christmas in July

Today was super productive!!  I finished binding a quilt and made more blocks for another quilt.

Here is the finished quilt....

It is lap sized.... modified.  I had to shorten is slightly I don't want the receiver to trip on it when he gets out of the recliner or get it caught under his wheelchair wheels.  Just long enough to keep his lap warm.

Here are some of the details of the quilt....

I put some extra soft brushed cotton fabric on the back of the quilt.  Super soft... super warm!

I also made a few more blocks for my next quilt....

As you can see.... good day!!
