Straightened the Craft Closet

We are 5 days away from July.  In my little world that means Christmas in July.  I decided since I was going to craft and sew lots and lots that I better get organized.

I sorted through all of my fabric.... all of it.  I did throw away a small amount but most of it was refolded and put away ready for upcoming projects.  Here is what my floor looked like for a short time yesterday.  Ack!!

The other thing I sorted was all the papers... my sewing room is also my place to write letters and do homeschooling paper work.

After sorting through ALL the papers, I found lots and lots of stationery.  I sorted them by envelopes and cards (I like to mix and match).

I also found TONS of notepads and post it notes.

A few weeks ago I covered small cardboard boxes with construction paper to hold odds and ends.  This is one of them.  Not the neatest job of covering but for me it works. :)
This box holds all of my patterns and templates. Now I won't have to go crazy trying to find a quilt block template.

Now I know where all my fabric  patterns and notions are located.  Let the holiday sewing begin!!

Look Into my Craft Closet-- My hideout!

I am going to give you a peek into my craft closet.  I used to have 1/2 of a bedroom to do my sewing until it started getting in the way of doing homeschool lessons.  I needed a new space!

I moved everything into a large walk in closet (Yes, I have to share it with my hanging clothes).

This is my little hide out!!
I am currently working on some quilt blocks.
I used the upper shelves to store my crafting books, notebooks and stationary.
This is also my teacher desk.... where I plan homeschool lessons

I keep all of my childhood teddy bears up on these shelves... they are safe up here.
(sorry this pic turned out blurry) :(

I am slowly adding more pink to my space.  So far I have these pink boxes (Target dollar section)

I got these pink buckets to hold all of my tiny block pieces (also Target dollar section)

I also added a lamp to my closet for those time when I want to sew at night or on cloudy days.
Yes, I even have pink paper and and pink massage ball (my neck get sore looking down at quilt blocks

This is my "they love me" board.  Cards from friends and family.
Do you see my vintage hanky??  I love old pretty hankies!!

These were my grandmothers quilting pins.  I love thinking of her when I am quilting .

I just got this at Thanksgiving... great for store all sorts of things (I have it full to overflowing) :)

The pin cushion was my grandmothers.  The jewelry box was Grandma's, too. When she died I asked for one thing... her jewelry box.  I have fond memories of sneaking out rings and necklaces from this box.

Well, there you go.... my craft closet.  I hope you enjoyed the tour.  It won't stay this clean... in a couple of days it will covered in fabric.  I immerse myself in my projects. :0
