Brown Log Cabin Quilt

I was finally able to complete the brown log cabin quilt that I have been working on for....forever.

It is nice and long.  It is a picnic blanket for my parent's car.

It is backed in chocolate brown broadcloth cotton fabric.

I am hoping they enjoy it and have lots of yummy picnics.

Red Wild Quilt is Done!!

I was finally able to finish the red wild quilt.

Here is a close up

I added a soft green binding and....

.... and backing to the quilt.

Little Girl Kitchen Set

I am done with the little girl kitchen set.  I think it turned out super cute.

This is what the place mats look like.... lots of pink and purple.

Please excuse the loose strings....

Each of the place mats have rick-rack on the side edges

These are the tiny hotpads.

Now to start some regular sized place mats for an upcoming birthday....

Little Girl's Kitchen Set

My niece got a little play kitchen.   I want her to have little girl linens for her new play kitchen.

My goal is to make her 2 mini hot pads, 4 placemats and 4 fabric napkins.  So... I got sewing.

I started with the mini pot holder.  They are so tiny and cute....

It is about 1/2 the size of an adult sized pot holder.... or smaller. I kept giggling while I was putting it together.

Here is the first of 4 placemats.  They are large enough for a tea party sized plate , play silverware, and a teacup.  I added rick rack to two of the sides.

I need to finish cutting three more placemats and small fabric napkins.  If I  have time I would love to make a matching apron.  We shall see....

1st Project for 2013

I have already started my first quilting project for 2013.

I need a couple of doll blankets for birthday gifts this coming year.  I figured why not get started on them.

These are the fabrics that I will be using... pink, pink and more pink.

I was able to use of quite a bit of my scraps.  I filled Mason jars with scrap fabrics a few weeks ago..
I made two stacks of completed blocks... one for each quilt.

Here are four sets of blocks sewn together  with sashing.  Lots of sashing....

I finally found some energy and finished this quilt.  The edges gave me a fit.

Fabric Scarf

I haven't been able to knit with the PICC in my arm.  Feels goofy and twinges.  I saw a pattern at
Moda Bakeshop  for a  fabric scarfs.  I made a few of modifications and created this....

Here is where I sewed the strips together.

Then I sewed a back to it.  This scarf is backed in light pink fabric.  I am making another one that is backed in pink floral fabric.

I sewed an edge around all four sides.

It is on the wide side but will fit nice around the neck and and cover part of the shoulders as well.  It is also nice and long... full coverage in chilly weather.

Bring on winter!!!

Floral Casserole Cozies

I have another birthday gift to give.... I am actually sending it late.   Ooops!

I made the birthday gal some casserole cozies... they go to lots of potluck dinners.

The smaller one is for bread and the larger one will hold a 9X13 casserole.

One side is blue striped and the other side is a wild floral.

The inside of each of the bags is flannel fabric.

Each of the cozies/bags can be tied shut with a coordinating ribbon.

This is one of my most wild (on the eyes) casserole cozies.  I think I need to get some plain flannel rather than patterned.  :)

Red Criss Cross Potholders

Before I went into the hospital I put these potholders together.

Sorry this one turned out a touch blurry.  This is the backside of the potholder.

Here is a close up of the Christmas fabric on one of the holders.

I have squeezed in a bit of sewing since coming home.  I will share pics of those projects in the next few days.

Hospital Package

A good online friend sent me a "get well" package.  She sent me some sock and a pair of slippers.

I don't have pics of the socks but I did get a pic of the slippers.  Aren't they cute??

The slippers are warm and super soft.

I am so thankful for my online friends.
