Painted Lamps

I am entering the world of re-painting my home decor.  I have been afraid to mess something up.  I decided to try something simple... lamps.

I had some lamps that had a drab color.  I am all about fun color....

Here is the before.. gold and drab green

After about 2 hours of work later....

They are now bright white!!  Hubby doesn't like them.  I LOVE them.

Yes, I know I need different color shades now.  Sorry this shade is tilted. :(

I like how the white color brings you the details in the lamp.  

Hmmm... what can I paint next???

Master Bedroom Decluttered

I wish I had more pics of the master bedroom for your but.... I still have a few boxes at one side of the room.

Here is the bed area.  Yes, our bedspread is kinda wild.  We are not getting rid of color.

Here is what the end tables looked like before...

Only the absolute necessities.  The dark shadow on the side of the table is a few books. Much easier to dust and no dust collecting linens

Ooops!!  (I forgot to take a pic of the "after".... you can imagine the changes right??) :)-

The next couple of pictures had sunshine issues.... too much sunshine.  SO SORRY!

We started with gauzy curtains.  They are simple but they were collecting dust are almost impossible to wash.

Underneath we had linen blinds.  So much easier to keep clean.... just vacuum.  I now need to remove the hardware from walls.  

This week's task:   get rid of the large pile of to donate and start listing a few items to sell. 

Freshening Up the Bedroom

I decided to freshen up the master bedroom today.  Spring is here and winter has dulled down my house.

The backside of our quilt has a "spring-y" fabric.  I let it show when I made the bed today.  I changed up the bed and put on crisp white sheets and pillowcases.  

I put out a new handkerchief on the bedside table.  

I added an old watch and a cherished Boyd bear to the high dresser

The watch was my grandmothers..... I think of her each time I see it.

We don't have a full length mirror so I improvised with a tall mirror from a dresser.  

Kiddo cleaned in his room as well.  There is a floor in there!!!
